Summer VAT Reduction Announced

What It Means for Businesses and Families

The Government has announced a temporary VAT reduction on a range of family focused leisure activities and children's meals as part of its new "Great British Summer Savings" initiative.

 

From 25th June 2026 to 1st September 2026, the VAT rate on certain qualifying goods and services will be reduced from 20% to 5%. The measure is designed to help families enjoy more affordable days out during the school summer holidays while encouraging spending in the hospitality, leisure and entertainment sectors.

Latest term date timetables

  • September Term starts Thursday 3rd September 2026
  • Dates in orange indicate school holidays and those in red indicate bank holidays which means Church Lane and Terrington will be closed during these periods. For the October 2026, February, April, July and August school shutdown period holiday provision will be provided at Saddlebow Road only. Bookings are taken for Holiday Club at Saddlebow Road only and must be booked in advance.
  • Christmas, last day of term is Fri 18th Dec 2026. All Centres close for a shutdown and re-open on Tuesday 5th January 2027.
  • All Centres closed on Mon 12th April 2027.
  • August 2027 closures to be confirmed.
  • 2027/28 calendar closure dates to be confirmed.
